Music to My Ears

Martin Springett, friend and writer/illustrator/ musician extraordinaire, has added music to his site, including compositions he wrote inspired by two of my books, The Hunter's Moon and The Light-Bearer's Daughter. These were pieces he played, accompanied by his beautiful floutist daughters Miriam and Rebecca, for the Celtic Studies Society at the University of Toronto; when he and I did a gig there in November 2006. (There's a blog about it in the archives.) Then we did it all again a year later, November 2007, at Victoria College, U of T, for the annual CANSCAIP conference at which I was the key-note speaker. (That's in an archive too, I believe.) If you want to have a listen - and also to view Martin's magical artwork - go here: http://www.martinspringett.com/Music%20Pages/musicdownloads.html. I listened to the music and its great! Also, I absolutely love The Chronicles Of Faerie! I just finished The Light Bearers Daughter last night and I couldn't put it down. Although I am 22 and cannot seem to get enough of those books. I have read them each at least twice. I just wanted to tell you how much I love your books and I can't wait for the next one!! :)

Thank you Margaret. I'm delighted you are enjoying the books. To be honest, I don't write them for a particular age group, rather the young and the young at heart! I'll be posting some more Light-Bearer photos soon as I am just back from hiking in the Wicklow Mts once again, all through areas Dana would have gone. But my feet are killing me and I am knackered, so I'm not posting this evening. Hot bath and bed!

Mountain photos tomorrow, Margaret, I was out defending Tibet's freedom today in the lashing rain (photos of that on Blog, tomorrow also). That's strange, Hilly-wa, Martin is perfectly respectable! Perhaps ask your teacher why he is blocked?

The linrarian isn't in charge it's the district, and one time I was blocked from Scott Westerfeld's blog for about three months. Then All of a sudden I was able to go back again. It's very strange.
