Jane Eyre

I am an eternal fan of the Brontes. (See past remarks about Wuthering Heights being 'the book behind the book' for The Summer King.) Recently my sister loaned me her copy of the BBC series on Jane Eyre. Utterly brilliant. Here's a fan trailer I found on youtube. Just got the book out of the library. I can't remember when I read it last. Hmm, did I read it? It may be one of those books I assume I've read but haven't. I do remember the old film with Orsen Welles as Mr Rochester. Well, I shall know for certain as soon as I start reading it. Can't wait. But first, to work.

If you want to delve deeper into the whole Jane Eyre story I highly recommend 'Jane Eyre: The Musical' I don't know if you would be able to find the original cast recording, but it should be out there somewhere. It's a full musical like 'Phantom' and the music is so brilliant, it totally captures the essence of the story.

Must confess I am no fan of musicals (hated them as a kid along with magicians and clowns) but given that it's Jane Eyre, I'm curious enough to look out for it.

I love Jane Eyer too since I read the abridged version when I was eleven. If you've seen the BBC movie, you've seen it in near perfection.
