Artwork for the Third Chronicle
Here it is, folks, the cover for the third book in The Chronicles of Faerie called The Light-Bearer's Daughter. The picture displays a scene from the book. That's a hazy morning sun and those are the Wicklow Mountains. Of the three exquisite covers, this is my favourite. He is truly an amazing artist, Cliff Nielsen. My praise and thanks to him. Tusind tak fer dat! And not only is this the best cover, I believe, but the rewrite of the book itself went beyond my wildest hopes and dreams. Expect to see it out in May 2007. (Sorry, I said 2006 in original post!) I'll blog an alert when it begins to move into our world.

Oh, that's gorgeous, pure and simple. It makes me want to read the book again (I'm due!) very, very soon. Tonight, perhaps. Absolutely lovely!
Ah but Tori, this new version is more than twice the size and, I have to say, a hundred times better. Fingers crossed you will see it out in Canada next year also!!!
I'll definitely keep my eye out for the new and improved version. Speaking of Canada, I hear you're heading to Ontario at some point. Any chance you'll make it to the West Coast? i.e. Vancouver or Victoria
Yes, Victoria would be wonderful! I can't wait to read your new versions. My friend is moving to Scotland, so I might see if she can send me them. I read The Hunter's Moon the year it was released when I was in grade 6. My teacher had it in our class, and my best friend and I both read it and fell in love with Ireland. We started planning a trip there and read all your books (my favorite is The Singing Stone), so I was really happy when I was in the bookstore a year ago and noticed The book of Dreams. I was really excited that it took place in Canada and that you had continued the series. So, here's hoping they'll let us Canadians in on more of your work! And the new covers are all exquisite, by the way.
Thanks everyone. Would love to get back to Vancouver Island as I was stationed in Esquimalt with the Naval Reserve and loved it! But alas, not this year. I will be in Toronto, Cobourg, Mississauga, and Montreal. Will post info closer to the dates in November. Sheila, the book comes out May 2006. I'm still writing it! Have you read The Hunter's Moon?
Nice art!
Lordy, I keep saying May 2006, when I mean 2007. Must correct the blog post also.
Wow! Another amazing cover! I don't know why though, but the burgundy red doesn't completely work for me. When I think 'light', I think yellow.
Hmm, it might be your browser, Laura. There's no burgundy red in this picture! It's yellow-gold and bronze. We are doing the four elements in the covers which actually suit the stories, i.e. air, water, and earth so far, with the final one being red and fire.
Beautiful! Can't wait. I've now got my Mother and several friends hooked on your books. I cannot wait until the new version of this comes out.
wow I'm sooooo very excited to read the 3rd book I just finished the summer king and I loved!
